KOLDBORN Begin Recording New Album
August 15, 2005KOLDBORN will enter Smart 'n' Hard studios on Monday, August 15 with producer Jacob Bredahl to begin recording their next album, tentatively due in early 2006. "We are recording 10 brand new songs and re-recording one track from the latest MCD," the band write on their web site. "This batch of new songs contains both the most brutal, fastest, heaviest and most catchy material we have ever made." A rehearsal recording of a new track, entitled "Neural Bound", is available for download at this location.
KOLDBORN's latest EP, "Devil of All Deals", was recorded and mixed by Bredahl at Borsing Recordings and is the band's first CD to feature new members Bjørn Bihlet (guitar) and Lars Bjørn-Hansen (vocals).
The group, who split with longtime frontman Martin Leth in early 2003, issued their debut album, "First Enslavement", in October 2002 through Diehard Music.
In a recent interview with Denmark's Antenna webzine, KOLDBORN guitarist Henrik Jacobsen spoke about the group's current label situation.
"We're still looking," Henrik said. "We recorded a promo about a year ago which we mailed to a few labels, but we're still looking because we don't have a label at the moment. We're really looking for a label because we need someone to finance the album, but as it is now, we'll record and finance everything ourselves. This way we also end up with a product we're 100 percent in charge of. So it's totally up to us with regard to music, mix, layout and everything so it might be for the best this way. It's just us, who have to get the money up from our pockets, but I can live with that and this way we have a final product which we can send to the labels and hopefully get a deal and I'm sure we will, because the music is awesome."
